Standardized reconstitution, storage, and handling protocols for all Primal Research compounds. All protocols are for reference only and are intended solely for qualified researchers conducting in vitro research.

Reconstitution at a Glance

Step 01 — Prepare

Allow to Equilibrate

Allow bacteriostatic water and lyophilized vial to reach room temperature. Confirm sterility of all materials and surfaces.

Step 02 — Calculate

Determine Target Volume

Calculate diluent volume for target concentration (e.g. 1mg/mL = 5mL BW for a 5mg vial). Use calibrated pipettes.

Step 03 — Inject Slowly

Add Along the Vial Wall

Inject diluent gently along the inner wall of the vial — never directly onto the lyophilized cake. Avoid agitation.

Step 04 — Verify

Swirl Until Dissolved

Gently roll the vial between fingers until fully dissolved. Solution should be clear. Do not use if particulates are visible.

Handling & Storage

Lyophilized (Dry) State

Stable at room temperature for up to 3 months when protected from humidity and light. Long-term: −20°C. Shelf life: 24 months when stored correctly.

Reconstituted Solution

Store at 2–8°C (refrigerated). Use within 28 days. Do not freeze reconstituted solutions — freezing may cause peptide aggregation and loss of research activity.

Protocol Questions

Bacteriostatic water (BW) is recommended for all multi-use research applications. It contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which inhibits microbial growth and extends usable life. Sterile water for injection (SWFI) may be used when benzyl alcohol is contraindicated — use within 24–48 hours and refrigerate immediately.

Use calibrated insulin syringes (1mL / 100-unit) for precise volumetric measurement. For example: if reconstituted at 2mg/mL and a 500mcg aliquot is required, withdraw 25 units (0.25mL) from the vial.
The COA includes: compound identity (LC-MS), purity (HPLC area normalization), molecular weight, and batch number. A purity of ≥99% indicates the compound accounts for ≥99% of the UV-absorbing material at 220nm.
Lyophilized (dry) peptides can be stored at −20°C and returned to room temperature without degradation. Reconstituted solutions should not be frozen — aliquot dry powder before reconstitution if multiple sessions are anticipated.
Standard bacteriostatic water is approximately pH 5.5–7.0, appropriate for most peptides. For poorly soluble compounds, dilute acetic acid (0.1%) is occasionally used. Consult the specific compound datasheet for pH-sensitive cases.
